Canadian Association of Physicians for the Environment - Action for Climate Change

CAPE Sept 27The mission of the Canadian Association of Physicians for the Environment (CAPE) is better human health by protecting the planet.

CAPE is organizing a Fridays for the Future event on September 27, 2019 in cities across Ontario. The Toronto event will take place at Queen’s Park from approximately 12 noon to 2:30 pm, September 27, 2019.

CAPE supports Fridays For Future and students everywhere who are voicing their concerns about the climate change emergency. Health professionals across Canada recognize that climate change is a major threat to our health. CAPE is showing solidarity with students during their national day of action on September 27, 2019.

Three simple ways that you can show your support for action on climate change and health:

  1. Spread our message on social media with a selfie: “I support Climate Action to protect our Health” and use our hashtags #healthforceforfuture or #doctorsforfuture
  2. Sign our Call to Action petition here: https://cape.ca/call-to-action
  3. March with local Friday For Future students. Find your local organizers at www.fridaysforfuture.ca

Fridays for the Future events, inspired by Greta Thunberg, are a peaceful youth-driven movement created to urge an immediate increase in political will and concrete policy to address the climate crisis. This movement has inspired people from all over the world to unite in asking representatives to take effective action on climate change.
