Master Teacher Program 2020-2022: Call for Applications

The Department of Medicine is now accepting applications for the September 2020 start date of the 2020-2022 cohort of the Master Teacher Program. The deadline for applications is June 22, 2020.

The Master Teacher Program is a two-year faculty development program that is designed to meet the learning needs of each participant. Participating physicians attend the program one half-day per week. Classes for the cohort beginning September 2020 will take place on Wednesday afternoons. The program provides a series of interactive seminars on medical teaching and education topics and opportunities to present participant teaching methods through clinical teaching practica. The core series includes sessions on essential teaching topics: small and large group teaching techniques, bedside teaching, assessing learner needs, promotion of understanding and retention of knowledge, evaluation and assessment, feedback, teaching in difficult situations, competence by design, equity, diversity and allyship, along with many other teaching and education topics of relevance. Participants may also elect to take additional relevant graduate courses offered at the University.
