Dr. Masood is an emergency physician at the University Health Network and the director of quality, safety & innovation for the UHN emergency departments. He is an assistant professor in the department of medicine at the University of Toronto and a clinician
investigator with the Toronto General Hospital Research Institute. He completed his undergraduate studies, MD and royal college residency training in emergency medicine at the University of Toronto, and completed a Master in Public Health at Harvard University, with a focus on quality improvement and clinical effectiveness.

He is the lead for UHN's first virtual emergency department, and also the co-chair of UHN's Clinical Decision Support committee. In addition to his roles at UHN, he is the clinical quality co-lead for emergency medicine at Ontario Health, where he provides guidance in developing provincial quality indicators for emergency medicine. Dr. Masood has received several awards for his scholarly work, including awards by Health Quality Ontario, the Canadian Association of Emergency Physicians, the University Health Network, and University of Toronto. His work is supported by the AHSC AFP Innovation Fund.
