Late Career Transition Workshop 2024

Culture & Inclusion

The Department of Medicine's Culture & Inclusion portfolio includes a focus on helping faculty achieve a successful late career transition. One of our early steps is to offer workshops designed to encourage members to contemplate the "what" and "how" of these transitions, even if they are still several years away. The workshop will be led by Dr. Robert Madan.

What to Expect:

  • Engaging sessions with didactic content
  • Personal reflection exercises
  • Small and large group discussions

Workshop Objectives:
By the end of the workshop, participants will be able to:

  1. Identify barriers and facilitators to physician retirement.
  2. Reflect on personal thoughts and feelings about retirement.
  3. Envision their "ideal" retirement.
  4. Develop a late career transition plan.
  5. Define personal steps or actions needed for preparation.
