Dr. Carolyn Tan is a geriatrician and clinical pharmacologist/toxicologist at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre and GeriMedRisk. She completed her Core Internal Medicine training at the University of Toronto, followed by a year as Chief Medical Resident at Sunnybrook. She subsequently completed subspecialty training in both Geriatric Medicine and Clinical Pharmacology & Toxicology at the University of Toronto. In addition, she earned a Master’s in Quality Improvement and Patient Safety from IHPME where she now serves as an instructor. Her research focuses on quality improvement at the intersection of geriatrics and clinical pharmacology, with a particular emphasis on optimizing medication use.
