Dennis Wong

Dr.  Wong is a Clinical Immunologist and Allergist at St. Michael’s Hospital and Assistant Professor in the Division of Clinical Immunology and Allergy at the University of Toronto. He completed his MD at the University of Toronto and earned a PhD in Experimental Medicine at the University of British Columbia, where his research focused on Tuberculosis pathogenesis. He discovered the molecular mechanism by which Mycobacterium tuberculosis inhibits phagosome maturation. He subsequently completed residency training in Internal Medicine and fellowship training in Adult Clinical Immunology and Allergy at the University of Toronto.

Dr. Wong’s primary clinical and research interests include food allergy, chronic urticaria and angioedema, and cannabis allergy. He was a Senior Clinical Research Associate in the SickKids Food Allergy and Anaphylaxis Program. He is a member of the Canadian Urticaria Guidelines Panel. His work has been published in leading peer-reviewed journals in Clinical Immunology and Allergy. In addition to his clinical and research activities, Dr. Wong is actively involved in medical education. He completed the Master Teacher Program at University of Toronto. He currently serves as Site Education Lead for Clinical Immunology and Allergy at St. Michael’s Hospital.
