Opioid overdose and initiation of opioid agonist therapy, novel psychoactive substances and emerging drug trends, clinical and forensic toxicology in overdose and death investigation, toxicosurveillance and population based drug safety research
Dr. Jessica Kent-Rice is an emergency physician, clinical pharmacologist and medical toxicologist at St. Michael’s Hospital. She is also a medical toxicologist at the Ontario Poison Centre, and an investigating coroner with the Office of the Chief Coroner for Ontario. She is a clinician investigator in the University of Toronto’s Department of Medicine and the St. Michael’s Hospital site principal investigator for the Toxicology Investigators Consortium (ToxIC), an international toxicosurveillance network. Her academic work focuses on opioid overdose and treatment, the clinical effects of novel psychoactive substance use and forensic aspects of medical toxicology in overdose and death investigation.
