Dr. Justin Hall is an emergency medicine physician and Chief of the Department of Emergency Medicine at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre, and the Medical Director for Toronto’s Virtual Emergency Department, and Affiliate Scientist at Sunnybrook Research Institute. He is an Assistant Professor in Quality and Innovation in the Division of Emergency Medicine, Department of Medicine, Temerty Faculty of Medicine at the University of Toronto.

Dr. Hall completed medical school at the University of Toronto and specialty training in emergency medicine at the University of Toronto. He holds a Master of Public Health from the University of Waterloo, a Master of Science from Queen's University, and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Oxford.

He is the Co-Chair of the Canadian Triage and Acuity Scale (CTAS) National Advisory Committee, a joint collaboration of the Canadian Association of Emergency Physicians (CAEP) and the National Emergency Nurses Association (NENA). He serves as Co-Chair for the Ontario Health Clinical Advisory Committee for Virtual Urgent Care and as a member of the CAEP Artificial Intelligence Special Interest Group and CAEP Choosing Wisely Canada Working Group. Dr. Hall’s academic interests include resource appropriateness, virtual care and digital health solutions including the use of artificial intelligence and machine learning, and capacity building related to quality improvement and patient safety.
