Susan Fox

Dr. Fox MB, ChB, MRCP(UK), PhD, FAAN and was the former Head of the Division of Neurology, University Health Network and Sinai Health Systems; holds the Krembil family Chair of Neurology; Professor of Neurology, University of Toronto. She is current co-chair of the UHN Clinical Research Executive (2022 - present).

She earned her MD and PhD from University of Manchester, and trained in Neurology in the UK. Dr. Fox is past Chair of the Pan-American section of the International Parkinson and Movement Disorder Society (MDS) (2021-23). She was chair of the Evidence based medicine review committee for the MDS 2013 – 2017 and Secretary of the MDS 2017 – 2019.

She has served on many committees; grant review and advisory boards for the MDS, NIH, CIHR, and Michael J Fox Foundation for Parkinson research among others. She has trained >50 fellows since 2003, and was the Division of Neurology University of Toronto Fellowship director, 2004-2012.

Dr. Fox has 30 years’ experience in preclinical models of Parkinson’s disease and translational studies of novel pharmacological therapies for Parkinson’s disease and other movement disorders such as dystonia.

She has published over 200 peer-reviewed papers, reviews and book chapters in the field and is a regular speaker at national and international conferences. She was the Gordon Holmes Invited Lecturer at the annual Association of British Neurologist meeting May 2022.
