Description:

Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre, an academic teaching hospital fully affiliated with the University of Toronto, is offering a one year fellowship position in Stroke Neurology (with the option to extend to 2 years).

Sunnybrook has a multidisciplinary stroke program with strong collaboration from neuroradiology, vascular neurosurgery and neurocritical care. Our centre has a bi-plane neurointerventional angiography suite, two 1.5T and one 3.0T clinical MRI scanners (as well as additional dedicated research scanners), 4 CT scanners and PET-CT. We have a dedicated NeuroDoppler ultrasound laboratory which is the only Intersocietal Accreditation Commission Vascular Accreditation (ICAVL) accredited laboratory in Toronto for both carotid US and transcranial Doppler US. We have an active research program and participate in a number of high profile clinical trials in both acute stroke management and stroke prevention. Sunnybrook also houses the Sunnybrook Research Institute and has expertise in clinical epidemiology and stroke health services research. Our team consists of 6 dedicated stroke physicians (Drs. Julia Hopyan, David Gladstone, Mark Boulos, Amy Yu, Rick Swartz, and Houman Khosravani), 3 vascular neurosurgeons, and 7 neuroradiologists.

Applicants should have completed an accredited training program in Neurology or Internal Medicine in preparation for a start date in July.
