Description:

The fellowship is intended to develop an Endocrinology trainee’s skills as an endocrinologist using innovative technologies in the management of type 1 diabetes. More specifically, this fellowship will enable the fellow to develop an expertise in advanced care in diabetes, including insulin pump therapy, continuous glucose monitoring, and the implementation of hybrid closed loop algorithm therapy. The one-year fellowship will provide the fellow with actionable knowledge in managing this complex and rapidly-evolving aspect of diabetes care. Furthermore, opportunities in a clinical research program of type 1 diabetes will afford the fellow learning opportunities in clinical research methodology related to technology use. The fellow will participate in clinics and research meetings with the supervisor, with anticipation of a research presentation and manuscript.
