The fellowship is focused on the novel cross-disciplinary field of Cardio-Oncology. This fellowship will allow the trainee to learn the shared risk factors for cancer and cardiovascular disease, the potential complications associated with cancer therapeutics, methods of prevention, early detection, and treatment. There will be a significant focus on clinical research. The fellowship will predominately focus on outpatient care. Fellows do have the option of a 1) 2 year fellowship which could include first year focused more on clinical cardiooncology and second year focused on research, 2) 2 year fellowship with 1 year in cardiooncology and 1 year in advanced heart failure (requires separate application process to HF program as well), 3) 2 year fellowship with 1 year cardio-oncology and 1 year echocardiography (requires separate application to the echocardiography fellowship) and 4) 1 year fellowship focused on clinical cardio-oncology only but also with engagement in some research.
