Welcome Address

We are glad to welcome you to the upcoming 23rd Annual Interventional Neuroradiology Symposium and 8th Karel G terBrugge Lectureship that will be held as a HYBRID event at the BMO Education & Conference Centre within the Krembil Discovery Tower at the Toronto Western Hospital in Downtown Toronto, September 28th-30th, 2023.

While in the pre-Covid era we had in the range of 150 to 250 on site participants attending this symposium, the virtual world during COVID actually increased the reach of our symposium and we had between 300 and 500 participants from around the world. During last years “Hybrid” event we were capped at 40 on-site participants and welcomed a crowd of nearly 400 virtual participants. Being one of the larger conferences in our field we have constantly received excellent feedback on the quality of the lecturers and the topics we are covering that cover the endovascular world from its neurovascular anatomical foundations to current state-of the-art techniques.

Similar to previous years, the first day will be dedicated to Case-based Neurovascular Anatomy Teaching with this year’s topics being divided into “Choroidal Arteries” and “Perforator Anatomy”. The main topics of the subsequent days of the INR Symposium will cover new minimally invasive treatment avenues, Stroke, Aneurysms, and shunting lesions. We will again focus on conceptual insights as well as practical issues and will have multiple “Case-based” sessions.

The Karel Terbrugge Lectureship this year will be awarded to Dr. Allan Taylor from Cape Town South Africa, who will speak about “The Learning Curve”.

We will have “coast-to-coast” invited speakers from neurovascular centers across Canada and the US as well as distinguished international guest speakers from Japan, Germany, South Korea and South Africa.

Similar to the previous years, we believe the Symposium and its associated workshop will be of interest to a broad audience of Neurosurgeons, Neurologists, Neuroradiologists, and Interventionalists.

We look forward to welcoming you to Toronto in 2023 – either virtually or in-person!
