Culture and Inclusion presents: EDI Masterclass - Creating Inclusive Learning Environments

Session Overview:
This session will explore general principles, challenges, and resources in fostering inclusive learning environments. The session will provide an overview of "Guidelines for Inclusivity" developed through the Temerty Faculty of Medicine and Women's College Hospital, including the rationale for developing these guidelines and the process around their development. This event is open to both faculty and learners.

Objectives:

  • Discuss general principles and approaches to cultivating an inclusive learning environment
  • Provide an overview of "Guidelines for Inclusivity", including practical utilization of these guidelines

Facilitator Bio:
Nikita-Kiran Singh graduated from medical school at the University of Alberta and is currently a PGY-5 in the Critical Care program in Toronto. She completed Core Internal Medicine residency at the University of Toronto, including a year as Chief Medical Resident at Toronto Western Hospital. With a background in biological sciences and philosophy, she loves exploring the intersections between medicine and the arts, especially as it relates to medical education and social advocacy. She co-founded the Resident Interest Group in Social Advocacy (RIGSA) in the Internal Medicine program.
