Dr. Swinkin’s clinical work focuses on movement disorders including parkinsonian syndromes, dystonia, chorea, and botulinum toxin injections. She supervises residents and fellows in her outpatient clinic and also participates in clinical supervision and teaching on the neurology inpatient service.  She has won several teaching awards including the MD Program Teaching Award of Excellence and the Starkman Neurology Faculty Teaching Award. Dr. Swinkin also holds privileges at the Toronto Western Hospital where she works with residents and fellows in the movement disorder clinic and is a site-Principal Investigator for the LUMA study, a multi-site study of potential disease-modifying therapy for Parkinson’s disease.
