Federico Carpani

Dr. Carpani was born and raised in Buenos Aires, Argentina, where he completed his residency training in Neurology followed by a fellowship in Interventional Neuroradiology.

In 2021, he moved to Toronto to pursue advanced training, completing three years of Stroke fellowship as well as a Master’s degree in Quality Improvement and Patient Safety at the Institute of Health Policy, Management, and Evaluation (IHPME), University of Toronto. He then undertook a further year of fellowship in Interventional Neuroradiology with a special focus on ischemic cerebrovascular disease.

Driven by a deep commitment to advancing stroke care, Dr. Carpani has dedicated his work in Canada to developing innovative quality improvement initiatives aimed at strengthening communication between multidisciplinary teams and streamlining care pathways for patients. He has collaborated closely in the design and implementation of novel Epic-based tools to optimize patient flow and enhance decision-making in acute stroke.

His academic and clinical interests lie at the intersection of acute stroke care, management of complex patients, and system-level collaboration. Dr. Carpani is particularly passionate about building and coordinating high-functioning teams, with the vision of integrating local and regional stroke systems to improve outcomes and equity of care for patients across diverse settings.
