Gabriela Szuman

Since obtaining my medical degree in Argentina in 2011, I have developed a career focused on the clinical care and study of endocrine diseases. Between 2016 and 2021, my work in Argentina focused particularly on pituitary and bone disorders. During this time, I was an active member of the Neuroendocrinology Department of the Argentine Society of Endocrinology and Metabolism (SAEM), where I participated in research initiatives related to pituitary disorders, further consolidating my academic interest in this field.

From 2018 to 2021, I served as a clinical staff endocrinologist at two major medical institutions in Argentina, where I provided comprehensive inpatient and outpatient endocrine care. In parallel, I was actively involved in medical education, teaching and mentoring medical students, residents, and trainees across different stages of training.
Medical education has been a central component of my professional development. I began my teaching career as a Teaching Assistant in Endocrine Physiology at the University of Buenos Aires and have continued to pursue opportunities to teach and mentor the next generation of physicians.

In 2021, I moved to Toronto to pursue an Endocrine Oncology Clinical Fellowship, where I have gained specialized expertise in the management of complex endocrine neoplasms. During this time, I have also been actively involved in teaching junior Endocrine Oncology fellows, as well as residents and medical students.

To further strengthen my teaching skills, I enrolled in the Department of Medicine’s Master Teacher Program at the University of Toronto in September 2024.

I am enthusiastic about leading educational initiatives in endocrinology that target early learners and advanced trainees alike.
