Dr. Gordon D. Ko, MD, FCFP(EM), FRCPC, DABPMR, FAAPMR, is the Medical Director of the Canadian Centre for
Integrative Medicine and an Interventional Physiatrist, serving as Adjunct Lecturer at the University of Toronto
(OakvalleyHealth.ca and ScarboroughHealthNetwork.ca sites). Prior to the pandemic, he was a consultant staff at
Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre for over 30 years and worked at regenerative medicine pain clinics within the GTA.
A recognized leader in chronic pain and disease management, Dr. Ko has authored 70 publications—including several
peer-reviewed papers and two books; delivered 48 media interviews and over 500 lectures to healthcare professionals
and the public, including those through the OMA Speaker’s Bureau. As a passionate educator and former President of
the Canadian Association of Orthopaedic Medicine (2017-2018), Dr. Ko emphasizes interdisciplinary and Functional
Medicine approaches, integrating evidence-based therapies in Regenerative Medicine and Neuroplasticity. His clinical
expertise focuses on guided injections to correct muscle imbalances (BTX-A) and address ligament laxity with
prolotherapy and Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP), advancing the field with pioneering work that has been featured in national
media such as CTV News.

Dr. Ko has served with the Canadian Pain Society in developing Fibromyalgia management guidelines (2012) and with
the provincial (MOHLTC) Lyme Disease and Tick-Borne Illnesses Task Force in 2017-8. Dr. Ko is also an advocate for
virtual, personalized lifestyle counselling—helping patients to eat right, move more, and sleep better—reflecting his
commitment to comprehensive, patient-centered care.

His teaching and clinical philosophy is inspired by Hippocrates’ guiding principle: “To cure sometimes, treat often, comfort
