Ian Blumer

Ian Blumer is a general internist with a practice focusing on diabetes and thyroid disease. He is an elected member of the executive of the Clinical and Scientific section of the Canadian Diabetes Association, where he serves as chair of the 2008 Clinical Practice Guidelines Dissemination & Implementation Committee. He is the recipient of the Canadian Diabetes Association 2005 Special Dedication Award. Dr. Blumer is the medical advisor to the Charles H Best Diabetes Centre. He has written several books including What Your Doctor Really Thinks: Diagnosing the Doctor-Patient Relationship, Diabetes for Canadians for Dummies and, most recently, Understanding Prescription Drugs for Canadians for Dummies (co-written with Dr. Heather McDonald-Blumer).
