Jamie Cazes

Dr. Jaime Cazes is a Staff Neurologist at Unity Health Toronto with a clinical and academic focus on stroke care, systems optimization, and medical education. He completed his Adult Neurology Residency at the University of Toronto, followed by subspecialty training in Stroke Neurology at Toronto Western Hospital. 

Dr. Cazes has a particular interest in optimizing stroke systems of care and improving the translation of evidence into real-world practice. Dr. Cazes is actively involved in medical education and simulation-based training. He is a co-lead of NeuroNexus, a multidisciplinary initiative focused on enhancing stroke education through high-fidelity simulation. Through this work, he designs and implements realistic stroke scenarios for learners across all levels, including medical students, residents, fellows, and interprofessional teams, with the goal of improving clinical reasoning, team communication, and systems-based care.

Dr. Cazes has been recognized for his contributions to teaching and mentorship, including receiving the PARO Resident Teaching Award and the Peter Ashby Collegiality Award. He also completed the University of Toronto’s Master Teacher Program, further supporting his development as a clinician-educator. His academic interests include curriculum development, interprofessional education, and the integration of simulation into neurology training, alongside quality improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing efficiency, safety, and patient outcomes in stroke care. Dr. Cazes welcomes collaboration with learners and colleagues interested in stroke neurology, medical education, and simulation-based research.
