Leanne Casaubon

Dr. Casaubon MD MSc. is an Associate Professor of Medicine, University of Toronto, in the Division of Neurology–Stroke Program of the University Health Network (UHN). Dr. Casaubon is the Medical Director of the UHN Stroke Program and the Toronto West Stroke Network. She is also the founder of the TIA and Minor Stroke (TAMS) Unit, a comprehensive day-unit at Toronto Western Hospital (TWH) for persons at high risk of disabling stroke.

For distinctions, Dr. Casaubon successfully led TWH to achieve and sustain Distinction in Acute Stroke Services through Accreditation Canada since 2017, and in 2018, she received the UHN’s Living our Values award for Teamwork.

Dr. Casaubon completed her medical degree at Dalhousie University, followed by her Neurology Residency, Stroke Fellowship, and a Master of Science (Clinical Epidemiology) at the University of Toronto.

Dr. Casaubon’s academic expertise includes quality improvement, stroke best practices, and clinical care innovation. She has 15 years of leadership experience within the stroke system in Ontario, as well as nationally.

Dr. Casaubon is currently the inaugural provincial Clinical Lead, Stroke, for Ontario Health, and was a past Board Director of the former Ontario Stroke Network. She also sits on the Board of Directors of the Canadian Stroke Consortium, the professional organization for stroke physicians, providing national leadership.
