Maria Agustina Perusini

Dr. Maria Agustina Perusini obtained her medical degree from Hospital Italiano de Buenos Aires, Argentina, in 2010. She completed her residency in Internal Medicine and subsequently pursued a fellowship in Hematology at the same institution. Following her training, she worked as an attending physician in the Hemato-Oncology and Bone Marrow Transplant Unit, where she also served as a supervisor for hematology fellows.

In 2022, Dr. Perusini joined the Princess Margaret Cancer Centre in Toronto, Canada, where she completed a fellowship in Leukemia and Myeloproliferative Neoplasms and served as Chief Fellow of the Leukemia Program. She is now appointed as a Clinical Investigator in the Leukemia Program within the Division of Medical Oncology at the University of Toronto.

Dr. Perusini has completed a Master’s degree in Clinical Epidemiology and a certification in Translational Medicine from the University of Toronto. Her academic focus is on bridging laboratory discoveries with clinical applications to improve patient outcomes, with particular interest in Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia, Chronic Myeloid Leukemia, and emerging therapies. Her collaborative work with scientists, trainees, and clinical colleagues has led to multiple presentations at national and international conferences, as well as publications in peer-reviewed journals.
