Biographical Sketch
Dr. Faughnan is a clinician investigator performing clinical research in pulmonary disease. Dr. Faughnan also has a special interest in pulmonary vascular malformations and Hereditary Hemorrhagic Telangiectasia (HHT). Dr. Faughnan’s degrees include an MD from Université de Montréal and an MSc in Clinical Epidemiology from the University of Toronto. She is presently the Director of the HHT Program at St. Michael’s Hospital and University of Toronto and the Chair of the Scientific and Medical Advisory Board of the HHT Foundation International. Dr. Faughnan is also the Director of the Pulmonary Function Laboratory and Exercise Testing Laboratory at St. Michael’s Hospital.
Dr. Faughnan is currently leading studies in COPD, effects of air pollution, exercise testing outcomes in COPD and has developed a COPD Database at St. Michael’s Hospital. Other ongoing studies involve clinical diagnosis and outcomes for pulmonary arteriovenous malformations, impacts of genetic diagnosis for HHT and the elucidation of vascular mechanisms of disease in HHT.
