Sameer Patel

Dr. Sameer Patel is a palliative care specialist with a special interest in health professions education. He graduated from the Royal College of Surgeons in Dublin, Ireland, completed his internal medicine training in Rochester, New York and completed his palliative fellowship training at the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Centre. Following his training, he practiced in Rochester General Hospital in upstate NY for 3 years as a palliative care clinician and associate program director. He is currently completing his masters in Health Professions Education at John Hopkins, and joined the St. Michael’s Palliative care team in 2024. He has a passion for palliative education, serious illness communication, and improving public awareness about palliative care. Outside of the hospital, he enjoys going to concerts, raptors games, and spending time with his wife and 2 boys.
