Sivakumar Gulasingam
Dr. Gulasingam is an assistant professor and clinician teacher attached to the University of Toronto (UofT), Department of Medicine, Division of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PM&R). He completed medical education at the University of Colombo, Sri Lanka, PM&R Residency at UofT, and a clinical fellowship in Spinal-cord injury (SCI) and Cardiac rehabilitation at UofT and the University of British Columbia.
He is a staff physiatrist at UHN’s Toronto Rehab Lyndhurst Centre and Rumsey Cardiac Centre. His clinical work and research focus around SCI rehab, sports medicine, spasticity, sexual health, and wound care.
His teaching activities stretch beyond medical undergraduates and postgraduates to include other healthcare professionals. He mentors residents and takes a special interest in guiding international medical graduates. He is the Residency Program Committee representative for SCI and Cardiac Rehab. He has been the PM&R Division’s examination lead and National examination lead for CAPM&R. He is also a national & international classifier in Parasports.
