Sunil Gupta is an Interventional Endoscopist & Gastroenterologist based at St. Michael's Hospital in Toronto. After completing his Gastroenterology training at Westmead Hospital, Sydney, Australia, he undertook three years of interventional endoscopy training at Princess Alexandra Hospital in Brisbane, Westmead Hospital in Sydney and St Michael’s Hospital in Toronto. He is trained in all facets of interventional endoscopy, including ERCP, therapeutic EUS, EMR, ESD and POEM. Sunil has completed a PhD at the University of Sydney, focusing on “Innovations and Paradigm Changes in Upper GI endoscopic tissue resection”. He has published widely and received numerous awards, including the People’s choice YIA at AGW in 2019, Sir Richard Stawell Memorial Prize from the AMA in 2022 and National Scholar Award from UEG in 2022. He currently serves as a Co-editor for the journal ‘Endoscopy’ and is a committee member of the ASGE Standards of Practice Committee.
