Dr. Taylor Petropoulos is a cardiologist specializing in cardiac critical care, advanced heart failure and transplantation, and extracorporeal life support at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre. She is an Assistant Professor of Medicine at the University of Toronto. 

She completed her medical degree at the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland. She completed residencies in Internal Medicine and Cardiology at the University of Toronto, where she also served as Chief Medical Resident and Chief Cardiology Resident. She subsequently completed fellowships in Advanced Heart Failure and Transplantation at Toronto General Hospital and Critical Care Medicine at Stanford University. She also holds a Master of Education in the Health Professions from Johns Hopkins University. 

Her clinical and academic work focuses on the care of patients with cardiogenic shock, advanced heart failure, and mechanical circulatory support. She is particularly interested in how simulation-based education, procedural training, and team performance optimization can improve outcomes in cardiac critical care. Dr. Petropoulos is committed to advancing multidisciplinary training and innovative care models that strengthen the delivery of cardiac intensive care.
