The Canadian Association of Gastroenterology Fellow (CAGF) distinction is an esteemed honour for CAG members who have demonstrated long-term commitment to the Association and to furthering the goals of advancing GI practice and research in Canada. This honour will thus be bestowed on a small number of CAG members each year. This award is not meant to detract from the CAG Distinguished Service Award, which is aimed at a single person, typically with national or international recognition.

G.I. Awards - Past Recipients 2014-2015
Jenny Heathcote: former head of Patient-Based Research at Toronto Western Research Institute, and inaugural holder of the Francis Family Chair in Liver Research, was the recipient of the 2015 UHN Global Impact Award. The award, which honours UHN staff who have changed the world of health and healthcare, recognizes Dr. Heathcote for her contributions to our understanding of hepatitis and other liver diseases.
Anne Griffiths: 2015 Canadian Association of Gastroenterology Visiting Clinical Professor award was elected to International Organization for study of Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IOIBD)
Adam Weizman: was awarded the Intramural Award for the project Improving Inflammatory Bowel Disease Care Through a Multi-Centered Collaborative. Co-investigators are Geoff Nguyen at Mount Sinai Hospital and Gert Van Assche in Leuven, Belgium.
