The University of Toronto General Internal Medicine (GIM) Residency Program is an exceptional program that provides diverse opportunities for different career paths in GIM. Our faculty are international leaders in the areas of education, research and quality improvement and provide mentorship and career guidance for our trainees.
This GIM program is designed to provide enhanced training for residents interested in a career in GIM. The educational program is a two-year curriculum that reflects the learning objectives of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada. The sessions include didactic lectures, high fidelity simulation based training and interactive project work. The sessions are led by faculty experts and renowned teachers. In addition, Toronto has a large patient population that provides exposure to unique and complex patients as well as opportunities to work in new and innovative models of care, creating a unique trainingenvironment. Graduates from this program are superior clinicians who excel in the management of complex patients with undifferentiated conditions.
Our mandate is to develop leaders in GIM, both in the academic and community setting. At the University of Toronto, we provide the clinical experiences, the faculty expertise and the mentorship to develop these future leaders.
