Update from the Elements Project Team – Winter/Spring 2026

As we start the New Year, there are several exciting developments in the Elements implementation initiative that we’re excited to share with you. If this is the first you’re hearing about this initiative, Elements is the engine for a digital platform that empowers faculty and researchers to showcase their achievements and research through the Discover Research portal. While the features within Elements enable faculty and researchers to curate their public profile, they can also be used to export data into formats that support appointment review and promotion processes. Elements will be replacing the existing WebCV application after March 31, 2026 as the standard curriculum vitae curation tool supported within the Temerty Faculty of Medicine.

To support this transition, the Elements team will be launching a new webinar series that will be available to the faculty and staff moving to the new platform in the coming months.

Building Support for Elements

We’re looking for faculty and staff at clinical sites interested in becoming ‘Champions’ of the new Elements platform, acting as a point of contact within their division or clinical site to support their colleagues in the adoption and use of this new CV curation tool. Individuals who volunteer to be Champions will be provided additional, focused support to ensure they're setup for success.

By volunteering to become a Champion, you are agreeing to the following:

Key Responsibilities

  • your contact information will be shared with colleagues within your division and/or at your clinical site
  • you will be designated as a point of contact for questions about basic functionality and troubleshooting within Elements
  • you will be the liaison between your colleagues and MedIT (TFoM) for any bug reports or change requests (i.e. you will submit them on behalf of your colleagues to MedIT, and then follow-up with your colleagues once MedIT provides a response)

Support

  • you will be invited to all general Elements Webinar training sessions
  • you will be invited to Elements Webinar training sessions tailored to Champions
  • you will be provided access to a dedicated Elements Community of Practice, which will serve as a dedicated space for Elements Champions to share best practices, ask for help, and connect with other Champions for learning opportunities (the Elements Community of Practice will be moderated by MedIT staff, who will also step in to provide direct support to Champions in the event other members of the community are unable to)

If you would like to become an Elements Champion, please complete the DoM Champion Sign-up form.

Provide your Feedback

We want to make sure we continue to improve the way we’re supporting you as we transition to the Elements platform, and your feedback is critical to helping guide our efforts. Please take a few minutes to complete an Elements Support satisfaction survey, to help us understand what’s working well and how we can continue to improve.

Thank you for your continued engagement as we continue to roll out the Elements platform!
