Description:

The Occupational Medicine Fellowship Program is similar to the Residency Training program, for which the program description can be found here.

Applicants from outside Canada and the US with a recognized certification for medical practice (MD) in Family Medicine, Public Health and Preventative Medicine, or Internal Medicine, excellent spoken and written English skills, as well as confirmed funding from their home government or institution, may submit their application (a CV and cover letter, along with three reference letters, with one from your former residency/fellowship program director, and proof of English proficiency) from September 1st to September 30th via e-mail to occmed.prg@utoronto.ca.

Applications will be reviewed in October, and eligible applicants will be contacted via email to arrange interviews, which will be virtual, and held in October-November. The successful candidate to our program will need to meet the English language requirements from the University of Toronto School of Graduate Studies (e.g. Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL), International English Language Testing System (IELTS)) to ensure eligibility to complete the Master’s Program (which is part of the fellowship program).The Master’s program has minimum requirements for prior grades and so transcripts will be evaluated to minimum grade requirements are met.

The successful candidate will start the 2-year program the following year, on July 1st.

Please note the following:

- The fellowship does not lead to a practice license in Canada.
- Rotations in aerospace/aviation are not generally available to non-Canadian trainees.
