Description: |
The Preventive Cardiology fellowship program based at St. Michael’s Hospital is a 12-month fellowship providing training in all the essential aspects of contemporary preventive cardiology with an emphasis on risk reduction strategies in the patient with coronary disease. In addition, women’s cardiac health issues will be explored. By the end of the training period, it is expected that trainees will have acquired the knowledge, experience, and clinical and technical skills required to be an expert in the diagnosis and management of the entire spectrum of cardiac prevention. In addition to clinical expertise, trainees will also pursue academic or scholarly activity in the area of cardiac prevention with appropriate supervision at a level required to further a career in academic cardiology. Independent practice of all aspects of preventive cardiology with application of diagnostic and therapeutic techniques for management of patients with chronic coronary disease will be explored. Cardiology and GIM trainees are welcome to apply. GIM training is a prerequisite for this fellowship. |
