Description: |
This is a 1 to 2 year academic combined fellowship program in thrombosis and hemostasis. This innovative program offers a unique breadth and depth of clinical exposure in arterial and venous thrombosis, hemophilia and other inherited coagulation factor deficiencies, platelet disorders, and coagulation laboratory diagnosis. The University, with its affiliated academic health sciences centres, is home to the largest clinical programs in Canada as well as a wealth of clinical and translational research opportunities. The fellow is expected to enroll in a funded Master’s course if not previously undertaken postgraduate studies. This should be in alignment with their academic focus, i.e. clinical epidemiology/health research methodology, medical education, public health, or quality improvement. At least 60% 30% of time is protected for academic activities with well-structured mentorship provided in all areas. Fellowship opportunities are contingent upon funding, which is determined yearly and on a case-by-case basis. Candidates must have completed subspecialty training in Internal Medicine and/or Medical Oncology or Hematology, and be eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario. |
