Description:
The University Health Network (UHN)’s Toronto Congenital Cardiac Centre for Adults (TCCCA), one of the oldest and largest centres of its kind in the world, has trained more Adult Congenital Heart Disease (ACHD) physicians than any other centre in the world (more than 60 physicians since 1993). The TCCCA offers a 2-year fellowship with a broad education in the clinical management of patients with ACHD. There are special clinics for pulmonary hypertension, pregnancy, heart failure and coronary artery anomalies and Marfan clinics. As part of the clinical duties, ACHD Fellows will be involved with inpatient and outpatient care, case conferences, and teaching rounds. ACHD Fellows will also conduct supervised, independent clinical research with a goal of one to two research publications in peer-reviewed journals by the end of the fellowship.
