Theme of the day: Medical Innovation - From Concept to Reality

Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre presents the Sunnybrook Medventions Innovation Day (formerly, Schulich Innovation Research Day)

The morning session, Successful Hospitals & University Spin-offs, will provide discussions on translating new medical device ideas from bench-to-bedside with a particular focus on medical innovations originating from academic and clinical institutions. The second morning session, Alignment of Efforts to Build the Right Environment, will provide an overview of recent local efforts from different medtech stakeholders leading change for Ontario's medtech sector.

The afternoon session will provide an overview on the Sunnybrook Medventions Program, a program we have recently started at Sunnybrook to pave the way for new generations of medtech innovations that are directly targeted at unmet clinical needs. The program provides a streamlined route to mentor scientists, clinicians and engineers in the complexities of bringing their innovations from bench-to-bedside.
