André Picard
André Picard is the health columnist at The Globe and Mail and the author of five books, including the current bestseller Matters of Life and Death: Public Health Issues in Canada.
He is a graduate of the University of Ottawa and Carleton University and has received honorary degrees from six Canadian universities, including the University of Toronto.
Learning Objectives:
At the end of the presentation, participants should be able to:
- Summarize the pros and cons of Canada’s medicare system through an examination its history.
- Discuss the financial, political and administrative barriers to reforming Canada’s health system.
- Demonstrate an understanding of the evolving social contract between government, patients and health professionals.
- Reflect on the necessary systemic changes to meet evolving societal needs through dialogue with representatives of the pharmacy community.
