  1. summarize the epidemiology and prevalence, pathophysiology, and genetic component of overweight and obesity in the adult population;
  2. relate chronic disease risk factors in the adult population to the presence of overweight and obesity; and
  3. recognize the persistence of chronic disease risk factors and weight bias present in childhood and adolescence into adulthood
