Topic: Sensory Loss and its Relationship to Dementia Risk, Cognition, and Functional and Structural Brain Imaging
Educational Objectives:
- To understand the high prevalence of sensory loss (hearing, vision, olfaction) in older adults.
- To understand plausible mechanisms for the relationship between sensory loss and cognitive decline and dementia.
- To become familiar with recent data demonstrating the relationship between sensory loss, cognition, and brain health in older adults with or at risk for dementia from the CLSA and COMPASS-ND data sets.
