Dr Locke obtained his medical degree and Fellowship in General Internal Medicine at the University of Toronto, and joined the full-time staff at Mount Sinai Hospital/University Health Network in 2004. He earned an MSc in Clinical Epidemiology, and completed the Education Scholars Program of the Centre for Faculty Development. He was a founding Director of the residents’ longitudinal clinic at Mount Sinai, and directed the Core Residents’ academic half-day program. His keen interest in the creative application of education theory led him to develop and direct the Portfolio Courses for year 3 and 4 medical students, and the Transition to Residency Course, the final course in medical school. This work was recognized with the Class of 8T9 Award for outstanding contribution to the undergraduate experience. His enthusiastic teaching has been recognized with the Wightman-Berris Academy Teaching Award, the Anderson Award for Program Development, and the “Resident’s Choice” Teaching Award.
