Description:

The Sunnybrook General Geriatric Medicine fellowship is a 1-year program. During this program, fellows will rotate through specialized geriatric services at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre.  Geriatric consultation to geriatric trauma and geriatric burn patients will be the focus.  Consultations to other medical and surgical services at the Bayivew campus will also included.  Outpatient geriatric clinic, falls clinic will take place either in distributed clinics throughout the year or during blocks, depending on scheduling. Geriatric Day hospital and outreach team assessments will be offered.  Up to eight weeks of electives can be arranged according to the interests and needs for the fellow.The clinical experience is enhanced by dedicated educational activities including: - Weekly academic half day teaching, monthly journal club, quality improvement co-learning curriculum and group project with a faculty liaison. Optional scholarly project: with mentorship.
