Donald Weaver, Harrington Scholar-Innovator Award

The Harrington Scholar-Innovator Award recognizes physician-scientist innovators throughout the US and Canada, whose research has the potential to change standard of care. The Scholar-Innovator Award provides recognizes clinician-Scientists who seek to bridge the gap between basic discovery and the clinical realm.  Up to twelve Harrington Scholar-Innovator awards are made each year through a competitive selection process.  No Canadian has previously won the Harrington Scholar-Innovator Award.

The Kidney Foundation of Canada has established a national goal of encouraging and supporting research that may further the current knowledge pertaining to the kidney or improve health in areas relevant to the Vision and Mission of The Kidney Foundation. Biomedical Research Grants provide financial support to medical researchers to assist in defraying the operating costs of research, which may include the purchase of materials, supplies and equipment and the payment of laboratory assistants.
