Earl Silverman, ACR Master Designation
Recognition as a Master of the American College of Rheumatology is one of the highest honors the College bestows. The designation of Master is conferred on ACR members, age 65 or older by October 1 of the year in which they are nominated, who have made outstanding contributions to the ACR and the field of rheumatology through scholarly achievement and/or service to their patients, students, and profession.

The Bernard Ghert Award of Resident Excellence in Patient Focused Care was established in 2002 in recognition of Mr. Bernard Ghert’s outstanding tenure as Chairman of the Board from 1997 to 2002. The award recognizes his long-standing commitment to excellence in patient care, teaching and research at Mount Sinai Hospital. The award is presented annually to a resident who has demonstrated excellence in patient care and teaching, particularly in interpersonal relationships with patients and families.
