Celebrating our Department of Medicine Resident Award winners

For the first time this year, the Department of Medicine recognized some of our outstanding residents who have contributed to education, research, mentorship and their patients with Resident Awards. Congratulations to all of our award winners!

These recipients will be celebrated at the DoM's Graduation celebration on June 10, 2024.

"I am grateful to the DoM for their support in my research and clinical training. As someone who hopes to be a clinician and scientist, I am very thankful to the DoM for their consideration of me for this award."

Outstanding Research Trainee Award (PhD)

Headshot of Richard Wu

Richard Wu, PGY4 Adult Gastroenterology and Hepatology

"I am currently studying the host-microbe interactions that may make an individual more likely to develop Crohn's disease. This recognition would not be possible without the incredible mentorships within the Division of Gastroenterology, our research teams from summer students to technicians, as well as the patients that inspired these great questions. We hope together we can one day find new ways to solve this great clinical need."

Outstanding Research Trainee Award (Master's degree)

Headshot of Timothy Kwok

Timothy Kwok, PGY5 Rheumatology

"It is an honour receiving this inaugural award. I am especially grateful to my program and my program director for the nomination. I would like to thank my research mentors, collaborators, and lastly, my patients for their support throughout the past few years."
