Department of Medicine’s 2021 and 2022 Prizes and Awards

This call is for nominations for the Department of Medicine Prizes and Awards for both 2021 and 2022. Awards for each year will be given at our 2022 Annual Day celebration. Eligibility criteria limitations (e.g., within 10 years of appointment to the department for the Goldie Prizes) and the impact of the pandemic on academic productivity will be taken into consideration in the adjudication process.

The awards:

  • Department of Medicine Academy of Master Clinicians
  • Department of Medicine Award in Quality and Innovation
  • Department of Medicine Teacher of the Year Award
  • Eaton Scholar Researcher of the Year Award – Basic Science
  • Eaton Scholar Researcher of the Year Award – Clinical Science
  • Michael Gordon Award for Humanism in Medicine
  • Robert Hyland Award for Excellence in Mentorship
  • William Goldie Prizes and Travel Award – Education
  • William Goldie Prizes and Travel Award – Quality & Innovation
  • William Goldie Prizes and Travel Award – Research
  • William Goldie Prizes and Travel Award – Teaching

General criteria:

  • Individuals with a primary appointment to the Department of Medicine during the 20-21 or 21-22 academic years are eligible.
  • Self-nominations are not permitted.
  • Unless otherwise specified, nominations are welcome from members of the Department of Medicine, undergraduate and post-graduate trainees, and allied health professionals.
  • A past recipient of an award is ineligible for re-nomination of that specific award
  • The Department of Medicine is strongly committed to promoting a culture of inclusion and encourages nominations of racialized persons/persons of colour, women, Indigenous/Aboriginal People of North America, persons with disabilities, LGBTQ2S+ persons, and others who have contributed to our goal of achieving inclusive excellence in our department.

Nominations:

Please nominate your outstanding colleagues for the Department of Medicine Prizes and Awards. All nominations must be received by Monday, March 28, 2022, at 9:00 AM.
