Canadian Institute of Health Research (CIHR), Network Catalyst Grant
Dr. An-Wen Chan along with Co-Applicants Aaron Drucker and Vincent Piguet were awarded a prestigious CIHR Network Catalyst grant that provides $1.2 million over 3 years. This funding will create a first-of-its-kind, national skin research network called the Skin Investigation Network of Canada (SkIN Canada) coordinated at WCH.

American Academy of Dermatology (AAD), 2020 Young Investigator Award Dr. Aaron Drucker has been selected as the recipient of the 2020 American Academy of Dermatology Young Investigator award in the Clinical Research Category. Each year one clinical and one basic science awardee from North America are selected and Dr. Drucker is the first Canadian recipient since 2014. The purpose of the award is to acknowledge significant research advances in the science and practice of dermatology by those beginning their research careers and who demonstrate the potential to become established, independently-funded investigators in dermatology. The award will be presented at the annual AAD meeting in March.
Aaron Drucker & Vincent Piguet
Canadian Dermatology Foundation (CDF), Team Grant on Th2 Inflammatory Disease
Dr. Aaron Drucker and Co-Principal Investigators Vincent Piguet, Carolyn Jack, and Sunil Kalia were awarded a CDF team grant for the project: Canadian Atopic Dermatitis Cohort for Translational Immunology and Imaging (CACTI). This funding will allow for the establishment of a unique cohort of atopic dermatitis patients at three academic sites in Canada (University of Toronto, McGill University and University of British Columbia) and enable advancements in biomarker development and precision medicine for atopic dermatitis.

La Roche-Posay Foundation, 2019 Dermatologist from the Heart Award Dr. Irene Lara-Corrales has been chosen as the winner of the 2019 Dermatologist from the Heart program by the La Roche-Posay Foundation. The program aims to encourage and support generous-spirited initiatives for dedicated, community-centered dermatology focused on enhancing patients quality of life among the dermatology community in Canada. Among applications from all over the country, Dr. Lara-Corrales was selected for her project "Cutaneous toxicities of targeted therapies for pediatric cancer: Educational modules for front-line health care providers." Congratulations!
