The Department of Medicine, Faculty of Medicine, at the University of Toronto is seeking applicants for the position of Departmental Director, Division of Infectious Diseases. Applicants must be eligible for a full-time clinical academic appointment as a Emergency medicine care specialist at the rank of Associate or Full Professor at the University of Toronto. The term of appointment is five years, renewable once following a successful review. Effective start date will be as soon as possible.
An aspirational leader is sought to drive change and advance the academic enterprise of the Division of Infectious Diseases over the next five years. The ideal candidate will be an internationally respected scholar and visionary leader with sophisticated interpersonal skills. They will meaningfully engage the academic leadership of the University and the affiliated teaching hospitals to build strong cross-department and cross-discipline collaboration, bridge diverse groups, strengthen capacity in research across disciplines, and provide strong mentorship to trainees and faculty at all stages of career. The individual will establish an overarching vision and strategic direction for the Division. The Director reports directly to the Chair of Medicine.
