Ebru Kaya appointed Department Division Director, Palliative Care
The Department of Medicine is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Ebru Kaya as Department Division Director, Palliative Care, effective Sept 1st, 2022. Dr. Kaya has provided outstanding leadership to the division as interim director and we are thrilled to announce her appointment to the position.
Dr. Kaya is an associate professor in the Department of Medicine and Palliative Care Site Lead for Toronto General Hospital. She has made important contributions to palliative care at the national level through her work with the Canadian Society for Palliative Care Physicians, where she has served as Treasurer and currently is President. Dr. Kaya has a wealth of experience in palliative care teaching and education at the local, regional, and national levels. She was co-recipient of a Temerty Faculty of Medicine Award for Excellence in Postgraduate Medical Education in 2021 for the tremendous success of the division’s fellowship program.
Continuing in this role, Dr. Kaya will establish a supportive network of leaders across the division with national and global reach. She will focus on professional identity and advocacy, promote collaboration and ensure her faculty is recognized and celebrated for their achievements.
