Multi-Factor Authentication for all Clinical Faculty - May 29th 2023

To protect all community members and their valuable work, the University of Toronto has added additional security verification for access to many UofT systems from off campus.  In the last year, many community members have been supported through self-enrollment in the University’s 2-step authentication solution which is called UTORMFA (UofT Multi-Factor Authentication). UofT is now requesting that you please self-enroll in the MFA solution within the next 8 days.

Instructions for enrolling in UTORMFA can be found here: https://isea.utoronto.ca/services/utormfa/self-enrollment/

The enrollment can be completed independently using the link above. However, for additional assistance, please do not hesitate to contact the support groups below as appropriate for your location:

St. George campus Information Common Helpdesk: help.desk@utoronto.ca, 416-978-HELP;

Mississauga helpdesk: helpdesk.utm@utoronto.ca, 905-828-5344;
Scarborough helpdesk:

# The best user experience is by use of a smart phone to self-enroll and confirm identity.  Alternatively, if you do not have a smartphone then you will require a separate hardware token. Please complete this request form if you need a separate hardware token.

# For your convenience your UTORid is XXXXXXX

Once enrollment is completed, at each login this 2-step user protection method (“MFA”) further protects your account from unauthorized access while off campus:

Step 1: Login will ask for your UTORid and password and
Step 2: Using a mobile device ask you to verify your identity with a single click/tap of your smart phone screen (The step is the second factor to confirm identity)

If you cannot enroll before the scheduled enablement date you will be directed to an enrollment process upon the first login after the enablement date.

Department of Medicine enablement date is:  Wednesday, June 7th, 2023 by 07:01 a.m.

You will receive email reminders starting prior to the enablement date requesting you to self-enroll in MFA and greatly appreciate your efforts to complete this task as soon as possible.
