In 2005, the Centre for Faculty Development established awards in faculty development which recognize sustained excellence in faculty development in the Faculty of Medicine, University of Toronto, through program development and evaluation and/or teaching. Nominations are open to all faculty in the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Toronto. An adjudication committee will select the winners. All winners are awarded at the annual Faculty of Medicine Educational Achievement Celebration event.

The Centre for Faculty Development is now accepting nominations for the 2018 Helen P. Batty Awards for Excellence and Achievement in Faculty Development in the following categories:

Sustained Excellence in Teaching as Faculty Developer - recognizes sustained excellence in teaching faculty.
Innovation in Program Development and Design – recognizes an outstanding faculty development program.
Sustained Contribution to the Field of Faculty Development – recognizes an individual or group who has made an exceptional contribution in the area of faculty development.
