The Department of Medicine, Faculty of Medicine, at the University of Toronto is seeking applicants for the position of Vice-Chair, Culture and Inclusion. Applicants must be eligible for a full-time clinical academic appointment at the University of Toronto, preferably at the rank of associate or full professor. The term appointment of the Vice-Chair, Culture and Inclusion is five years with the possibility of one renewal following a successful review.
The Vice-Chair, Culture and Inclusion is a leadership position, highly valued and pivotal to the overall success of the department. The Vice Chair, Culture and Inclusion reports directly to the Chair of Medicine and is a member of the Department’s Senior Executive and Executive Committees. The Vice Chair, Culture and Inclusion has a mandate to advance the department’s strategic priorities with respect to mentorship across the academic lifespan; equity, diversity and inclusion; and faculty wellness.
The ideal candidate is a respected faculty member and innovative leader with well-developed interpersonal and communication skills. A solid track record of collaborative leadership, mentorship, and commitment to equity, diversity and inclusion, as well as relevant scholarship would be a strong asset. The Vice-Chair, Culture and Inclusion will receive administrative support and an annual stipend from the Department of Medicine.
